Seoul, Washington Discuss Disabling NK Nuclear Program

South Korea and the United States on Saturday discussed ongoing efforts to get North Korea to disclose its nuclear weapons program and disable all facilities that could be used to make weapons of mass destruction.

Diplomatic sources in Seoul said U.S. officials led by Sung Kim confirmed that the disabling of the Yongbyon reactors is on schedule. The five-megawatt, graphite-moderated reactor and the nearby plutonium reprocessing facility are suspected of having provided materials to make nuclear weapons. The communist country detonated a nuclear device in October, 2006.
