HD Hyundai to cooperate with Ukraine on postwar reconstruction project

Ukrainian Ambassador to Korea Dmytro Ponomarenko visited HD Hyundai's headquarters recently in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, to talk with HD Hyundai XiteSolution CEO Cho Young-cheul about a project to rebuild the war-torn country, the Korean firm said Thursday.
HD Hyundai XiteSolution is an HD Hyundai subsidiary manufacturing construction equipment.
According to HD Hyundai, Cho introduced his company and its construction equipment to the ambassador, as well as sharing information about the Korean business delegation's visit to Poland earlier this month.
HD Hyundai said it agreed with the Ukrainian Embassy to continue their cooperation.
“In addition to our construction equipment, our generator engines and mobile generators will be helpful in rebuilding Ukraine,” an HD Hyundai official said. “For our company to immediately push ahead with the reconstruction project at the right time, we will seek close cooperation with the Ukrainian government.”
Accompanying President Yoon Suk Yeol on his state visit to the European country at that time, Cho participated in a meeting in Warsaw, Poland, on July 14, to discuss Ukraine's postwar reconstruction, along with executives of Korea's major construction and tech firms.
On June 13, the Ukrainian delegation led by Vasyl Shkurakov, first deputy minister for communities, territories and infrastructure development of Ukraine, visited HD Hyundai Construction Equipment's factory in Ulsan to discuss the potential supply of construction equipment for the war-torn country's restoration.
HD Hyundai XiteSolution is also expected to join Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong on his forthcoming visit to Ukraine in late August, along with other Korean businesses interested in the country's postwar reconstruction project.
