DESCRIPTION: Guryong Village is a settlement located on the outskirts of Gangnam, in the shadows of Seoul's predominantly affluent and middle class community. Here the community faces dire poverty, where some of the residents and elders can barely afford to survive. The housing situation is not safe and many are dilapidated. Pollution across the village is another major problem and concern. They are always in need of our help.
One of Guryong's main problems is the pollution build up in the rivers. Most of the garbage from these homes are dumped onto the mountain side and are then washed into the streams during the rainy season, causing flooding of the local streams. Mannam International, with the help of 70-80 volunteers, aims to fill up as many bags or trash and debris as we can to help prevent this from happening. Please join us in our goal towards a cleaner and less polluted village for the Guryong residents.
