HD Hyundai seeks to raise Develon's brand awareness in Europe

HD Hyundai Infracore will participate in the INTERMAT 2024 trade show in Paris between Wednesday and Saturday to expand its presence in the European market with heavy machines representing its new brand, Develon, the company said Monday.

In 2023, the construction equipment unit of HD Hyundai launched the new brand, as it stopped using the brand name of Doosan, the previous owner of Infracore.

Although HD Hyundai Infracore has made various efforts to raise Develon's brand awareness over the past year, this is the brand's first appearance at INTERMAT.

The triennial event is regarded as one of the world's three largest construction technology exhibitions, along with the United States' CONEXPO-CON/AGG and Germany's Bauma. Its last planned event in 2021 was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the tech show's latest event which resumes after six years, the Korean firm will open an exhibition booth on a 2,000-square-meter site to introduce its next-generation equipment and advanced technologies to European consumers.

In particular, HD Hyundai Infracore will unveil the DL250-FCEV hydrogen-powered wheel loader for the first time. The company explained that the machine can reduce carbon emissions significantly, as it can be powered by both hydrogen fuel cells and electric battery packs.

In addition, the construction equipment maker will disclose its 5-liter and 7.5-liter off-highway engines, both of which satisfy the latest Stage 5 emission regulations and feature improved power and durability.

Develon's Concept-X2.0 autonomous solution using cabinless crawler excavators and dozers will also be demonstrated for the first time in Europe. HD Hyundai Infracore also plans to introduce its new compact construction equipment, which ranges from a full lineup of 1- to 10-ton excavators to compact track loaders and dozers.

A survey by Off-Highway Research, a British management consultancy specializing in the construction equipment market, showed that mini-excavators were Europe's top-selling construction equipment last year, as more than 90,000 were sold in the continent.
