The River, a cultural complex where visitors can enjoy French dining, a wine bar, a live music bar and a cafe along the shore of the Han River, has been emerging as a popular place for those seeking special experiences along Seoul's main waterway, especially in a more intimate setting, according to the complex’s operator HLB, Tuesday.
HLB’s food and beverage unit HLB F&B recently renovated and reopened the multiplex. The new private cultural space nestled right on the riverside features four restaurants — Le Da, a French fine-dining restaurant inspired by the flowing waves of the Han River; NOCT, a wine bar that recreates the stars that beautifully adorn the night sky; NOCT M, where visitors can enjoy cocktails with live music; and Hey!, a cafe where visitors can enjoy delicious, freshly baked pastries with a cup of coffee.
“The River has been emerging as one of the best places to enjoy delicious food with the beautiful Han River view in a private atmosphere,” a spokesperson of the company said.
Le Da, located on the top floor, features a white interior to create a bright and luxurious atmosphere while also allowing visitors to feel the presence of the gently flowing Han River. Customers can select from various seasonal menu items. The signature dish for the fall season is pate en croute, a dish made by stuffing Iberian pork collar, duck breast and foie gras into a pie crust.

Visitors will be impressed with the striking interior inspired by the starry night sky at NOCT, a wine bar on the second floor. The internal illumination is very low, making it a good place to enjoy night views of the Han River. The signature dish of NOCT is scallion pesto pasta.
Visitors can also enjoy live music, especially jazz, at NOCT M, located right next to NOCT. They can sit at an outdoor terrace while drinking cocktails and listening to the music. Hey! is a popular cafe among young customers who take selfies with the Han River in the background. At this place, visitors can enjoy both pastries and desserts.
The River is also becoming a popular place for overseas tourists. "The number of overseas visitors is increasing recently as about one in 10 customers come from overseas. Their nationalities are also diverse, from English-speaking countries to Arab and Asian countries,” the official said.
