Samsung SDS is trying to increase its presence in the domestic enterprise cloud computing market by providing secure and customized cloud services tailored to the needs of business-to-business (B2B) customers that want to achieve digital transformation, the IT service arm of Samsung Group said Friday.
"People who use cloud computing services well receive a lot of benefits, but those who are not used to it experience inconvenience. We have prepared a lot over the past two years to provide services that can be easily used," Hwang Sung-woo, CEO of Samsung SDS, said during a press conference in Seoul.
"We are an IT service provider centered on B2B service. It is very complicated to provide cloud computing services to corporate customers, but we would like to solve it simply," Hwang said, announcing the company's new slogan for cloud service, Cloud, Simply Fit.
What sets Samsung SDS apart from other service providers is the company's capability in providing Samsung Cloud Platform (SCP), Managed Cloud Service (MSP) and Software as a Service (SaaS) services.
Samsung SDS said its own SCP provides cloud services optimized for business and for the needs of its B2B customers who demand security, safety and availability. In addition, the MSP service, which refers to an all-in-one managed cloud service, is based on Samsung SDS's technology and experience accumulated through IT service consulting, deployment and operation for more than 30 years.
For the SaaS services, the company provides Brity RPA automation service, Brity Works co-work solution, EMM mobile security solution, Nexprime SCM supply chain management service and Nexprime HCM human resource management solution which Samsung SDS has developed and successfully operated.
"Samsung SDS can meet the diverse needs of customers by providing cloud services optimized for each customer through these three categories of services," Koo Hyung-joon, executive vice president and leader of the Cloud Service Business Division at Samsung SDS, said.

Explaining the company's strength in the B2B cloud computing market, Samsung SDS introduced its newly-built data center in Dongtan District in Hwaseong City of Gyeonggi Province ― the country's first facility dedicated to high-performance computing (HPC).
"The data center provides high-speed and large-capacity cloud computing services to customers who need complex operations such as AI, big data analysis and R&D tasks through SCP," the company said.
Samsung SDS added that the Dongtan center is the only facility in Korea to be mutually backed up between its three data centers, which means it is capable of providing stable services regardless of exceptional events such as fires or power outages.
