Nexon, which recorded its highest-ever earnings in the first half of 2022, is launching a large-scale internship recruitment program called Nextorial, the game company said Sunday.

Given major IT and game companies recently reduced the size of new recruitment drives, Nexon's recruitment program that seeks to hire hundreds of interns came as a surprise and can be interpreted as the company's intention to go all-out to improve its presence in the game industry.

The company launched the Nextorial internship recruitment program on Sept. 21, which is accepting applicants until Oct. 4, aiming to train interns, provide mentoring programs and let them have practical business experience for six months. Through this program, Nexon aims to foster talented employees with practical field experience.

Unlike other companies' internship programs, Nexon offers the same level of salary and welfare programs as regular employees and those whose abilities and qualities have been verified during the internship program can be converted into regular employees. In the 2021 Nextorial drive, 91 percent of interns became full-time employees.

Employees who joined Nexon through the 2021 internship program said they could test their job suitability for the game company during the internship period by experiencing actual corporate culture, the working environment and business activities.

The large-scale internship recruitment program was launched thanks to the company's record performance this year. Nexon has continued to grow since the beginning of this year with its games such as “MapleStory,” “Dungeon & Fighter Mobile,” “HIT2” and “FIFA Online 4.”

In addition to hiring new interns, the company also recruits employees for various categories such as game development, operation and management.

“We will continue to invest and support to secure and foster future talents to further strengthen the competitiveness of the Nexon brand in the global game market,” said Jung Chang-ryul, head of human resources at Nexon. “We hope that many talented people will apply for Nextorial so that we can innovate the company and grow together.”
