Samsung Electronics on Wednesday showcased this year's lineup of new TVs, including the Neo QLED, MICRO LED and lifestyle TV models.
"These days, the home has become the main hub of our activities where various aspects of daily life interact and are layered within a multifunctioning space," Samsung Electronics Virtual Display Business President Han Jong-hee said in a virtual presentation aired Wednesday. "In these homes, TVs play a more important role than ever before."
In a separate media event the same day, Samsung showcased the Neo QLED, which has a New Quantum Processor and new Quantum Mini LEDs. The New Quantum Processor uses artificial intelligence technology that optimizes picture quality. Quantum Mini LEDs, which are 1/40 the size of conventional LEDs, enable ultra-fine light control. This image technology delivers both brighter white tones and darker pitch black tones unseen on other models for astounding contrast.

The new TV, together with the fitness platform Samsung Health, helps consumers stay fit as people spend more time at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. The upgraded version of Samsung Health plays the role of a smart trainer. With an optional camera sold separately, the smart trainer program utilizes AI to analyze posture and provide real-time feedback to improve form when following instructional videos.
The Neo QLED is also optimal for gaming as it enables players to see details in 4k clarity at 120 frames per second.
Samsung also demonstrated the MICRO LED TV offering accentuated brightness, deep black and superior image quality.
Lifestyle TV models such as The Frame were also shown at the event. The model transforms a TV into a work of art via new Art Store partnerships with NAVA Contemporary, an art advisory that offers an online gallery and consultancy services, and Etsy, an American e-commerce website focusing on handmade or vintage items and craftworks. The Frame also features greatly increased photo storage space of 6 gigabytes, up from 500 megabytes in 2020.
