Air France celebrated its 25th anniversary of offering passenger services to and from Korea, Wednesday. Operating since 1983, Air France was the first European carrier to provide services here.
This year is also the airline's 75th anniversary.
The company held a celebration event ``25 Years in Korea'' at the Plaza Hotel, central Seoul, and among the participants were Herve Moulin, general manager for Air France KLM Korea; Jean-Louis Pinson, senior vice president of the airline's international division; and four former general managers from the Korea office.
The highlight of the event was a fashion show featuring the changes of Air France female flight attendants' uniforms, which since 1946 have been designed by the world's top designers, including Georgette Renal, Georgette de Treze, Christian Dior, Cristobal Balenciaga, Carven, Louis Feraud, Nina Ricci and Christian Lacroix.
Twelve flight attendant-hopefuls showcased the uniforms, which were brought from the airline's headquarters in Paris.
Founded in 1933, Air France merged with KLM in 2004, creating the world's biggest airline group, Air France KLM. It has more than 104,000 employees and flies to 258 cities in 106 countries with a fleet of 607 aircraft.
The carrier began operating cargo flights to Korea in 1973 and passenger services in 1983. It currently operates two weekly passenger flights between Paris and Seoul, including one operated under a code-sharing agreement with Korean Air. Code-sharing is an arrangement through which an airline sells seats on another carrier's flights under its own name.
