Fuser, a new console and PC game title which will be published by NCSOFT, is gaining keen attention from gamers in the Americas and Europe with its new playing style and fresh content, pumping up expectations on the Korean game studio's debut in the console gaming market.
Fuser, which will hit the Americas and Europe on Nov. 10., is a new form of interactive music game. The game will be available on PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. Harmonix Music Systems of the U.S. will be in charge of developing the title with NCSOFT's U.S. unit, NC West, handling its publication.
According to NCSOFT, Fuser will include more than 100 songs in pop, rap, R&B, dance, rock, country and various other genres. These include songs by world's best-known acts such as Billie Eilish, Imagine Dragons, Coldplay and the Killers.
In Fuser, the player becomes a DJ of a music festival and performs with their own tunes by mixing vocals, baselines and other instruments of available tracks. After creating a song, players can share their original tunes through social media.
Unlike existing rhythm games, in which players earn scores by playing set notes or clearing provided quests, Fuser does not have a set pattern in its play, meaning players can get various outcomes even if they mix the same song and earn the same score.
NCSOFT said players can create their own songs and stages, as they can not only mix the existing tracks but also use the sample beats and instruments to maximize their creativity.
The Washington Post earlier described that "Fuser lets you be a virtual maestro, the mastermind behind how songs come together. You seamlessly remix vocals, bass, instrumentation and other elements of hit songs from top artists into something completely new."
Starting from Fuser, NC West will make its foray into the North American and European markets by releasing titles on various platforms, NCSOFT said.
