Samsung Electronics said Sunday that it had signed a contract with Kim, who won the World Figure Skating Championship in March.
This is the first time that an athlete has been adopted as a model for Anycall.
``We expect Yu-na, with her spirit of challenge and global image, to represent our top mobile phone brand that continues to feature new designs and sophisticated functions,'' a Samsung spokesman said.
Samsung quoted Yu-na as saying, ``As I was loved by the people through my challenge for new performances as a figure skater, I'd like to show my fresh image through this advertisement.''
