Neople, subsidiary of video game publisher Nexon and developer of the popular online game "Dungeon & Fighter," is taking the lead in co-prosperity with the local community by fostering future talent and looking after the underprivileged.

Neople moved its headquarters to Nohyeong-dong in Jeju City in 2015 and a year later it began operating a training course for 2D graphics as used in "Dungeon & Fighter." Popularity of the course has been increasing every year for its practical training that covers the basics of2D graphics gives participants an opportunity to generate a portfolio. The lecturing team is comprised of notable graphic artists currently designing for PC and mobile games.

The graphic design course was only opened to residents of Jeju Island in 2016 and 2017. Thanks to its popularity, though, Neople expanded the class size to take applications from all over the country by collaborating with Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and Jeju Techno Park. Under the new name of "Neople Jeju Academy," the course also opened additional programing classes.

Also, Neople has been selecting outstanding students from the academic course for internships and full-time employment opportunities. In 2018 and 2019, half of the course trainees were recruited to work at the game developing firm as a result. Neople said it will offer the training course again this year and receive applications starting in July.

Neople is not only fostering prospects but also actively engaging in local hiring. Since moving to Jeju Island, the game developer has recruited some 400 workers to raise its staff to 800 total now.

Neople is currently receiving application after announcing last Monday the open recruitment of new and experienced employees at its headquarters on Jeju Island and a branch in Seoul.

The available positions at the company include game planning, programming, graphics, technical support, overseas business, multimedia and management support.

Neople will receive resumes through its website at career.nexon.com until July 3. Those who get accepted will start working in September.

The game developer is in full support of the local community as well. Last April it donated 100 million won worth of vehicles specially designed for handicapped people to four welfare facilities. In 2019, it donated five more vehicles to the facilities for the disabled.

At the end of last year, the company provided various winter items to help the elderly cope with the cold weather.
