Samsung SDS unveiled, Monday, its innovative artificial intelligence (AI) based chatbot retail system that assists employees to boost sales.
The information and communication technology (ICT) services unit of Samsung Group displayed chatbot-loaded Nexshop Training on the first day of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain.
Employees at retail stores using Nexshop Training can receive advice from chatbots via voice or text on how to serve customers or keep up-to-date on the latest product details and promotions, according to Samsung SDS.
"Nexshop Training will enable employees to answer all questions from customers, leading to higher customer satisfaction and eventually an increase in sales," a Samsung SDS official said.
Along with the AI, the Seoul-based firm has other Nexshop-series retail management systems in its arsenal.
Nexshop Sales is a mobile assistive selling tool, which gives retail associates the latest details on products and provides real-time inventory management. Nexshop Marketing is a cloud-based video analytics tool that strengthens the relationship between stores and customers by capturing live data and analyzing it to improve staffing schedules and in-store layout.
Also at the world's largest mobile show, the company showed off its mobile security tool based on Nexsign, using biometric information such as fingerprint, face and voice.
In particular, it exhibited the Tablet Branch enabling bank employees to provide banking services through a tablet PC.
"We expect the system to fundamentally change the concept of banking services," the spokesman said.
"At the MWC, we tried to show our own capabilities to help firms improve their efficiency and productivity," said Hong Won-pyo, chief of its solution business division. "Particularly, we plan to accelerate our efforts to secure differentiated technologies and expand partnerships in order to charge into global markets such as the United States and Europe."
