South Korea was 13th on the medal list ― with three golds, two silvers and five bronze ― as day four of the Rio Paralympics closed Saturday (local time).

The medals have been earned in swimming, shooting and judo.

Swimmers Cho Gi-seong and Lee In-kook won South Korea's first gold medals in freestyle and backstroke at the games. Cho finished the men's 100-meter freestyle final in the S4 classification in one minute, 23 seconds.

Lee won the men's 100-meter backstroke final in the S14 classification in 59.92 seconds. For Lee, who had a mishap in the 2012 London Paralympics and was disqualified, it was his first Paralympics gold medal.

Cho will compete in the 200-meter and 50-meter freestyle and Lee the 200-meter freestyle and 100-meter individual medley.

Choi Gwang-guen won the gold medal in the men's 100-kilogram judo class in the B1 classification, earning his second consecutive gold medal in the Paralympics.

Choi defeated the four-time Paralympics champion from Brazil, Antonio Tenorio, by ippon in just one minute, 21 seconds.

The two silver medals came from Lee Ju-hee in the men's 10-meter air pistol event and Lee Jung-min in the men's 81-kilogram judo final.

Lee Ju-hee won the medal in the SH1 classification after shooting 195.6 points, a mere 2.6 points behind gold medalist Yang Cho from China.

Lee Jung-min received his silver medal in the B2 classification. He continued to fight even after being treated for a bloody nose during the tournament. He lost to Mexico's Avila Sanchez by a yuko.

Five bronze medals were achieved in shooting and judo.
