World Taekwondo (WT) has agreed with the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition (ADEX) to give a taekwondo demonstration during the city's national air show in October.

The international governing body of the sport signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Seoul ADEX, Jan. 22, agreeing that the demonstration team would perform during the opening ceremony of the Air Show at Seoul Airport in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, Oct. 19. The MOU also includes an agreement that the WT's demonstration team will perform at other international competitions and events run by the two organizations

The signing was attended by WT President Choue Chung-won and Seoul ADEX's executive director Jang Suk-chul.

"This collaborative partnership is an excellent opportunity to engage with new audiences and showcase taekwondo's global appeal," said Choue from WT headquarters in Seoul's Jung District. "Our demonstration team has performed at the Olympic Games and major events all around the world. Their performance at the Seoul ADEX Air Show will be another opportunity to demonstrate the joy of taekwondo and capture the imagination of global leaders."

The Seoul ADEX Air Show, formerly the Seoul Air Show that started in 1996, is South Korea's largest aerospace defense exhibition. In 2019, the show was attended by 334 defense ministers from 48 countries and 430 company representatives from 31 countries.

The upcoming show will run until Oct. 24.
