'Dead' woman wakes up in coffin

A “dead” woman has woken up inside a coffin in Germany.

The woman opened the coffin lid and said: “Where am I?” The undertaker promptly passed out.

A doctor had earlier pronounced the woman, 92, dead at her nursing home. The body was then moved to a funeral parlor.

But when the undertaker found the woman’s eyes wide open in the coffin, he checked her pulse.

He then called an ambulance to take her to hospital.

The nursing home chief came under fire following the incident.

“This is terrible and inexplicable,” he said. “We are being devoured by the press, we are being pilloried.”
