An educator once honored with the Teacher of the Year award is now under investigation into an alleged sexual relationship with a student, reported Huffington Post.
Michele Lynn Johnson, 45, was arrested on Wednesday night, according to the OC Weekly. The high school math teacher is accused of unlawful sex with a minor after the victim's father called police to report the alleged crime.
According to the Associated Press, the victim told police he had sex with Johnson more than once and KABC reports that the pair had "several" encounters. KABC also reports that Johnson is a married mother of two.
In 2009, she received Brea Olinda High School's teacher of the year award.
One of her neighbors said that she was dismayed by the allegations. "It's kind of a shame to hear something like this happening," Shanna Kostadinov told the station. Johnson is out on $20,000 bail. The age of the victim was not released.
