Procter & Gamble (P&G) Korea has teamed up with Coupang to run a special promotion event here by the end of this year.
This comes as part of the "Thank You, Mom" campaign run by the U.S.-based consumer goods giant. P&G Korea organized the promotion to promote the PyeongChang Winter Olympics next February. Its parent company P&G is an official sponsor of the International Olympics Committee.
This week, those who purchase P&G household items worth over 30,000 won ($26.67) on Coupang can receive a lottery ticket for a chance to enjoy on-site Olympics games or a P&G gift box.
P&G Korea said more than 100 tickets are available for the promotion, with the company offering a 10 percent additional discount for one specific item each day until Sunday.
"We are pleased to offer the special event, enabling customers to buy P&G products at a discount and participate in the global sports," said Navid Veiseh, senior vice president at Coupang's global e-commerce division.
"We plan to hold various customer-oriented events each month, in a bid to share our Thank You, Mom message to all the mothers here and abroad," P&G Korea CEO Kim Joo-yeon said.
"To commemorate the upcoming winter sporting event, we hope to express our gratitude to Korean customers with the special promotion."
P&G has been holding the "Thank You, Mom" campaign since the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, offering messages of gratitude toward mothers of Olympics athletes. P&G Korea said the company is pleased to continue running the event for next year's Olympics and pledged to spare no efforts to give words of encouragement to the Korean national team members and their mothers.
Coupang, for its part, also said the company is honored to become a part of the global campaign by joining forces with P&G.
