KT said Wednesday that it has teamed up with Golfzon, extending high-speed internet service for the nation’s top provider of golf simulators.
Under the partnership, Golfzon is expected to access KT’s leading telecommunications infrastructure, including its gigabit-class wired internet network system, or GiGA Internet, and its internet protocol television (IPTV) service, KT said in a statement.
This came before Golfzon’s planned launch of franchise stores for which KT offers wired telecom services. Both firms also agreed to join hands over a joint membership program. KT said it plans to promote Golfzon franchises via text message to its subscribers.
BC Card, KT’s credit card affiliate, also joined the partnership according to the mobile carrier.
BC Card plans to run a membership service for users to accumulate points at Golfzon locations. The card company also said it will take advantage of big data information on Golfzon users, helping each location to attract more customers. The company also plans to team up with professional golfers on promotional events, according to BC Card.
“We are going to offer a distinguished service for Golfzon through our GiGA Internet service,” KT Vice President Kim Bong-kyun said in the statement.
Jeong Ju-myeong, vice president at Golfzon’s business division, said: “Golfzon decided to sign partnerships with KT and BC Card, as we expect more differentiated marketing benefits through the alliance.”
