LG gives modest facelift to logo

LG Corp., the holding company of LG Group, said it will use a new corporate logo on group units and for PR activities from this year.

It left its main circular-type symbol unchanged. However, it enlarged the letter size of "LG" in the logo. It also increased the number of font thicknesses to four types ― light, regular, semi-bold and bold ― from the current one.

"This change will help boost brand identity, readability and usability," company spokesman Terry Taekyung Lee said, Wednesday.

The new logo will be used on all LG-manufactured products by affiliates, signs, surfaces of LG buildings and webpages.

LG said it will distribute new business cards to employees with the new logo.
