'Alien' creature caught on camera: report

It bears a resemblance to some kind of barmy bat ― with a mouse-like nose, deformed back and “wings” that it chooses not to use. Or perhaps it is an assassin bug ― carrying a piece of tree bark instead of its victims on its back, according to The Sun Wednesday.

Maybe the bizarre bug is a slightly squashed locust or even a mutant cricket, reported the newspaper published in Britain.

One YouTube user compared it to the humble caterpillar, commenting: “it looks like a caterpillar wearing a man made rubber ‘armour’ suit,” the report said.

Some people said the creature may be a strange spider, odd beetle or colony of ants carrying a leaf.

국내외 언론매체는 15일 해외 유명 동영상 사이트에 ‘UFO 거대 벌레 발견’(UFO Huge Bug Found)라는 제목의 50초짜리 영상이 올라와 야생동물 전문가들은 물론 해외 네티즌 사이에서 논쟁을 일으키고 있다고 보도했다.

16일 영국 일간지 더 선 인터넷판 보도에 의하면 영상 속 생물체는 쥐를 닮은 코와 기형의 등, 그리고 사용하지 않는 날개를 가진 일종의 박쥐와 흡사하다. 또 ‘곤충계 자객’으로도 알려진 어쌔신 버그(침노린재)가 등 위에 희생양인 개미를 짊어지듯 이 생물체는 나무 껍질로 보이는 이물질을 짊어진 것처럼 보인다고 보도는 전했다.

이에 대해 더 선은 “아마 그 기괴한 벌레는 약간 찌그러진 메뚜기이거나 돌연변이 귀뚜라미일 것”이라고 평했다.

한 유 튜브 사용자는 그 생물체가 작은 애벌레일 것이라고 주장했다. 그는 “촬영자가 애벌레 위에 고무로 만든 일종의 갑옷을 덧씌운 것처럼 보인다”고 설명했다고.

일부에서는 이상한 거미거나 딱정벌레, 혹은 나뭇잎을 나르는 개미 군단이라고 주장했다고 보도는 전했다.
