WCG to Take Place in Cologne, Germany

The World Cyber Games (WCG) Committee has announced that the city of Cologne in Germany will host the WCG 2008 Grand Final.

The world’s game festival was held in Monza, Italy last year, while this year’s event is to take place in Seattle, United States, in October where organizers expect up to 700 of the world’s best gamers.

Started as the World Cyber Challenge in 2000, the WCG was first officially held in 2001 and has grown in to the world’s largest computer and video games festival.

Lee Beats Ma in Payback Match

Lee Yun-yol of Pantech beat Ma Jae-yun of CJ Entus in the final of StarCraft Master’s League. It was held Saturday at COEX Convention Hall in southern Seoul.

It was a payback match for Lee, who was defeated by Ma in the 2006 StarCraft season 3 last month.

Terran player Lee came up with aggressive strategies against Zerg player Ma to win games 1, 2 and 4. Lee received the winner prize of 25 million won as well as a gold ring and trophy.
