‘StarCraft’ Player Wins Poker Game Prize

Bertrand Grospellier, the French professional game player who spent years in Korea playing in “StarCraft” leagues, earned around 400 million won in an international poker competition.

Grospellier, who is better known for his first name among Korean game fans, placed second in the European Poker Tour’s finals held last January in Copenhagen, winning more than 2,300,000 Danish krone. Grospellier turned into a professional gambler after he left the “StarCraft” scene in 2005.

The 26- y e a r - o l d F r e n c h - man was a f a m o u s , and popular professional gamer who had lived in Korea since 2001. Though he never won a major Star- Craft competition, he was respected and beloved as one of the most creative and enchanting players. He was also famous for wearing sunglasses and a poker face all the time.

Nintendo Wi-Fi Access Service Launched

Nintendo Korea announced last week that it launched the Wi-Fi access service, free of charge, in time for the release of “Mario Kart DS” here on April 5.

Through the Internet connecting service, gamers can now play with others from all over the world.

Gamers can use the facility for the service at DS Station chains or connect the handheld game machine to the Internet through a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector. Under the wireless Internet environment, no other equipment is required.
