Botox developer Alan Scot says that he regrets the day he sold the rights to the best-selling anti-wrinkle drug in the market to a U.S.-based company for a measly $4.5 million, the AFP reported Monday.
Botox has become one of the top procedures for erasing wrinkles, and it is currently being used for several medical applications, including swallowing problems and muscle spasms.
Dr. Alan Scott said that he could’ve been a billionaire. Dr. Scott says that he regretted selling for such a low price, and would have never sold it if he knew how big it was going to be.
Scott sold the formula for $4.5 million to Allergan, the now popular Botox maker. At the time, Scott felt like it was a good price.
These days, Botox reels in billions and is currently being used in around 80 countries.
