Aliens may not only exist in movies. A U.S. astronomer has said that “we will be able to meet our alien friends within 25 years.”

The astronomer who brought up such surprising prediction is Dr. Seth Shostak, the chief researcher at the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence Institute in California.

According to him, the time for aliens to visit Earth is getting closer.

Shostak supports his point with “Drake’s Equation,” which is used to calculate the number of aliens that could possibly be in touch with us in the near future.

An accurate answer has not been drawn yet, but astronomers are assuming that currently, there are about 10,000 to one million aliens in the galaxy.

The Drake Equation is helpful because the speed of the solar system’s expansion, the number of planets able to support life and the ratio of life forms on a planet form can also be calculated.

“According to the result of the equation, we will meet extraterrestrials within a few decades or in a maximum of 25 years. I believe we will meet aliens similar to ET,” said Shostak.

He added, “Although we may receive signals from aliens, it will be difficult to decode them since their science will be much more advanced compared to ours.”

(Drake equation).
