Yu Yeon-sung and Ko Sung-hyun won the men's doubles title after upsetting world No. 1 Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong of Malaysia at the Switzerland Open Sunday (KST).
The South Korean duo, ranked 30th, defeated their opponents 21-18, 21-16 to claim their first Super Series title.
The surprise victory is expected to add depth to Korean badminton, which has mainly depended on the pairing of Lee Yong-dae and Jung Jae-sung.
They eliminated No. 2-ranked Lee and Jung in the round of 16.
Meanwhile, Beijing Olympic gold medalists Lee Yong-dae and Lee Hyo-jung won the mixed-doubles title after downing compatriots Shin Baek-cheol-Yoo and Hyun-young 21-14, 21-18.
