Avoid Swinging Across Your Body
By T.J. TOMASI
Universal Press Syndicate When it comes to swing errors, few are worse than swinging "across" your body. What would make a golfer do such a thing? In the photo below, I have purposely ruined my downswing by lifting my right heel off the ground with my knee jutting out and over my foot. When the knee pokes out toward the ball, it restricts the right hip from rotating as much as it should because the knee is attached to the hip by way of the big bone in the upper leg. This in turn slows the left hip and accelerates the left shoulder, which causes the flip as the club cuts across the body. ![]()
