Two top pitchers in professional baseball are suspected of fixing games and gambling on the results, prosecutors said Tuesday as they widened their investigation into a snowballing match-rigging scandal across the sports industry.

The pitchers, whose names were withheld, allegedly agreed with a gambling broker surnamed Kang to walk a batter during games last year in return for a share of the winnings, prosecutors in the eastern city of Daegu said.
