South Korea women's national table tennis team was again blocked in its pursuit of gold by the Great Wall of China.

The Korean team was forced to settle for the bronze medals after losing to China in the semifinal of the Asian Table Tennis Championships Friday (KST) in Lucknow, India.

In three individual matches, Park Mi-young was first up and lost to third-ranked Liu Shiwen 3-0. Kim Kyung-ah, the top ranked Korean at ninth, lost to Li Xiaoxia and Dang Ye-seo, who changed her nationality from Chinese to Korean, lost 3-1 to Fan Ying.

China went on to beat Singapore 3-1 in the final.

The South Korean men's team, meanwhile, lost 3-1 to Hong Kong in the quarterfinal before beating India 3-0, will meet North Korea in a fifth-place match.

For Olympic gold medalists Yoo Nam-kyu and Hyun Jung-hwa are currently coaching the Korean team in the singles, doubles and mixed doubles competitions, which wrap up Sunday.
