Korean national football team manager Huh Jung-moo is among the nominees for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) manager of the year award, the AFC announced Tuesday.
The nomination comes after Huh led his side to its 27th consecutive game without a loss in a scoreless draw against Denmark, Saturday.
The AFC made the announcement to the Korea Football Association (KFA). Ki Sung-yueng of FC Seoul was also nominated.
The 54-year-old Huh also led his boys to their seventh straight qualification for the World Cup tournament this year.
Four managers of South Korean teams have won the award, which has honored the continent's best boss since 1994.
Park Jong-hwan of Ilhwa Chunma - a predecessor of Seongnam Chunma - won the prize in 1995 and national team managers Cha Bum-kun and Dutchman Guus Hiddink won the award in 1997 and 2002, respectively.
Cha Kyung-bok of Seongam Chunma was the last Korean winner, taking the prize in 2003.
Huh would become the sixth Korean to win a major AFC award; Lee Chun-soo of Al-Nasr grabbed the player of the year award in 2002 while Park Chu-young, now with AS Monaco, won the award in 2005.
AFC Champions League winners Pohang Steelers were also nominated for the club of the year award.
The AFC will announce the award winners next Tuesday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
