Lotte supports future scientists: Loh Shin-yong, center in the front row, chairman of the Lotte Foundation, poses with presidents of major universities and undergraduate and graduate students who received scholarships from the foundation at Lotte Hotel in central Seoul, Thursday. The foundation gave out a total of 2.55 billion won ($2.04 million) in scholarships to 865 students majoring in natural science. It plans to use 22.1 billion won to support students and education institutes throughout the year. Loh said, We cannot become an advanced country without nurturing those talented in basic science.
