The SK Wyverns stunned the Tianjin Lions of China, winning in by an emphatic 15-0 in a called game at the seventh inning at the Tokyo Dome Stadium in the Konami Cup Asia Series Friday.
The Wyverns, which recorded a 4-3 victory over the Seibu Lions Thursday, crashed the Tianjin Lions with 14 hits.
The Lions, which lost 7-4 to the Uni-President Lions by losing four scores in the ninth inning, couldn't maintain form beyond the first two innings.
The Wyverns, which didn't produce a hit during the same period, smashed the Lions at the top of the third. Eleven batters appeared at-bat and earned seven scores by combining seven hits, three steals and one walk.
Leadoff in the third inning Na Joo-hwan recorded his team's first hit, a double, and Jung Sang-ho hit a RBI single to claim the team's first run.
Though the Lions' stunned battery _ who allowed two more singles, one steal, one walk, producing two runs _ changed the pitcher, the situation wasn't getting any better.
The Wyverns' next six hitters scored four more runs, yielding three hits, including a double and two steals, to give the team a 7-0 lead.
Korea's No.1 team then earned two runs in both the fourth and fifth innings.
Korean slugger Kim Jae-hyun hit a three-run dinger in the last inning _ the seventh _ to make the score 15-0.
Korean starter Song Eun-beom pitched four scoreless innings with two strikeouts, allowing two hits.
The SK Wyverns will play against the Uni-President Lions of Taiwan at the same stadium Saturday, while the final is staged Sunday.
