The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) and the Korea Baseball Association (KBA) announced Monday a 66-player Olympic roster headlined by right-handed pitcher Park Chan-ho of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Yomiuri Giants slugger Lee Seung-yeop.
The squad was selected after the two baseball bodies narrowed their first entry list of 100 players issued last month.
Along with Park and Lee, outfielder Lee Byung-kyu of the Chunichi Dragons, who was not selected last month due to lackluster play during the Olympic qualifying round in December, made the roster, thanks to recent solid performance in the Japanese league.
The team includes 37 pitchers, five catchers and 12 spots each for infielders and outfielders.
The scheduled date to submit the final roster to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is July 23.
Eight countries have qualified for the Olympics and the top four teams will advance to the semifinals after the league stage.
