Some 80 people attended an event hosted by the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AustCham Korea) and the Korea Australian Alumni (KAA) at the Mixiology Bar in Seoul on July 26.

More popularly known as a Sundowner, guests were treated to an evening of networking and cocktails and also a lucky prize draw with gifts donated by JW Marriott, Reebok Crossfit Sentinel, Perioth Wines and Tourism Australia.

With a mixture of European and Asian fusion finger food, Australian wine, Italian beer and Russian and Indian inspired cocktails, the evening was a huge success with representatives from both the Korean and Australian business communities.

AustCham Korea Executive Director Rod Rothwell introduced the evening offering free “Skippy” (Australian slang for a kangaroo, after a TV program of the same name) stuffed toys with a welcome speech to introduce special guests and thank sponsors.

AustCham Korea, a body representing Australian and Korean business interests, began almost 20 years ago as a humble business group and has grown to have over 220 members.

Its mission is “to promote Australian business and AustCham member interests in Korea by becoming an effective source of information, connections and representation,” states a press release.

After a few hours of socializing the evening was rounded off with a prize draw followed by servings of pies from food chain Jesters.
