The Japanese Embassy in Seoul will introduce its country’s seasonal festivals.
In the exhibition gallery, visitors will be able to enjoy watching dolls and tasting food on display, experiencing Japanese customs such as catching goldfish and trying on traditional clothing, from Monday to Aug. 4.
There are two experience programs for children in elementary school. In one program, the children learn about culture through watching videos and performing origami.
Additionally, they can experience making containers from bamboo in which to collect insects. Applications for both will be accepted by phone, (02) 765-3011, on a first-come first-served basis, starting July 17.
The center will offer a chance to have a conversation with the director Akio Kondo and leading actress Riko Suzuki of the film, “Fumiko no Umi” (2007), which will be shown at 1 p.m. on July 28.
The venue is the Japanese Public Information and Cultural Center near Anguk Station on subway line No. 3.
Admission is free. For further details, visit http://www.kr.emb-japan.go.jp/.
