Boryeong Mud Festival to take place July 14-24
By John Redmond
During the summer festival period, tourists flock to Daecheon Beach, South Chungcheong Province, to experience the beneficial properties of Boryeong mud, and also to have lots of fun from July 14 to 24.
Fully immersed in both the mud and the festival’s great atmosphere, visitors enjoy mud wrestling, mud sliding and even swimming in the mud mega tub. Those feeling particularly energetic can try the marine mud-training course, while people looking for something more chilled can relax in the mud massage zone. In the evening, music and fireworks continue the party on the beach.
This year, the festival will be divided into two daily sessions. The first is from 9:30 a.m. to 1:20 p.m., and the second from 2:10 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The general admission is 5,000 won or for groups of 20 or more 4,000 won each. A ticket is required for each morning and afternoon session.
