CCS focuses on finest education and faith

“The first thing a student experiences at school is love and respect, which are foundational aspects in society,” said Dr. Glenn Jent, chairman of the board of Centennial Christian School (CCS) in Yongsan, Seoul.

“The teachers and staff of CCS are committed to giving what is right to the students ― both academically and morally. With thorough, one-on-one career planning, students are encouraged to take steps toward their goals according to their talents,” he said.

CCS is known for its quality education that is unique from other foreign schools in Korea and boasts 24 years of academic excellence.

Chairman Jent said that CCS focuses on providing both the finest education and the faith that provides guidance for students to choose the right path in their lives. CCS is a prestigious, officially registered foreign school approved by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education and strategically located in the center of Seoul.

Also, the school has full accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

WASC is a world-wide association that accredits public and private schools through a selective procedure. Only those schools that meet the strict academic requirements are approved for accreditation.

“Having accreditation from WASC means that CCS will go through regular assessments, planning, implementing, monitoring, and reassessment to assure that students continue to receive the best education consistent with the changing times,” Jent said.

Over the last two decades, the students of CCS have been accepted to various universities across the globe, especially the top universities in North America, such as Ivy League schools and New York University. Many of them are well known schools ranked within the top 50 worldwide.

“All CCS graduates successfully enter an overseas university. CCS can be an advantage to those who are seeking to attend universities outside Korea,” Jent said.

Indeed, CCS concentrates on building customized programs that are suitable for each student. The ratio is five students per one teacher.

“The bond between the students and teachers is very strong; and this allows the teachers to provide extra care for each student,” the school board chairman said.

“Students are able to learn and absorb academic programs with fewer problems or distractions,” he said.

“In addition, extra-curricular activities such as sports, art, music, speech and debate help students to build teamwork, develop talent, and enjoy a healthy lifestyle,” he added

With sights set on future improvements, CCS is also planning to expand its campus by adding a dormitory. It aims to provide accommodation for foreign students.

The dormitory would also service locals from outside Seoul and Gyeonggi Province.

Another plan is to operate afternoon school programs as a continuation of regular class hours for students with working parents who are unable to pick up their children until 6 p.m.

CCS is currently accepting new students from kindergarten to grade 12. Admission is open to all of those who have a passion and devotion to academic excellence.

Detailed counseling with CCS admission directors is provided upon request at the school from Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Detailed information in both English and Korean is available on the school website, www.ccslove.com.
