EUCCK, Jeonju food expo committee to sign MOU

By John Redmond

The European Union Chamber of Commerce in Korea (EUCCK) and the Jeonju International Fermented Food Expo Organizing Committee (IFFE) will sign a Memorandum of Understanding at the end of this month to enhance continuous exchange and integrated collaboration for mutual development.

The IFFE is the world’s first expo specializing in fermented foods since 2003. It promotes the future value of fermentation for life and science, and has stimulated the growth of the fermented food industry by finding excellent examples and displaying related products.

It takes place every October at the Citizens’ Park near Jeonju World Cup Stadium, along with Fermentation Exhibits, B2B Trade Consultation, an International Symposium, the International Fermentation Town Solidarity Meeting, and Fermentation Experiment Programs.

The MOU will be signed on May 30 at 11 a.m. at the EUCCK head office in Seoul. The EUCCK and IFFE will agree to keep the collaborative relationship to ensure the success of the business of each organization. They will also agree to promote each organization’s activities and achievements to extend collaboration in domestic and foreign affairs. They will collaborate in developing and operating a project to strengthen their cooperation and competitive business strategies.

The MOU will be effective for two years after being signed by both parties, with further renewal by mutual consent.

The EUCCK, a non-profit organization, is the representative voice of the EU business community in Korea. The purpose of the chamber is to help develop trade in all ways possible, along with commercial and industrial relations between the EU and Korea. It paves the way for and fosters contacts between interested business circles of the 27 EU member states and Korea.
