Filipino scholars to meet Dr. Kim Jin-hyung
By John Redmond
Pinoy Iskolars sa Korea, Inc. (PIKO) will be having a discussion with Dr. Kim Jin-hyung of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology at the Multipurpose Hall in the Philippine Embassy on May 19.
The event will be titled “Open Dialogue with MEST: The Need for Quality Consolidation Regarding Internationalization of Higher Education in South Korea.”
PIKO is a premier organization committed to the promotion of fellowship and cooperation among Filipino students participating in educational programs in the Republic of Korea.
For the past five years, PIKO has served as the only organization that caters to the needs of Filipino scholars, especially by serving as the link among international students.
“As our drive is to continue the PIKO legacy of goodwill and excellence, we believe this program for Filipino students is aimed to give feedback on the continuous process of improving the standards of internationalized education in South Korea,” states a press release.
“We will invite Filipino student representatives from all major cities in South Korea to attend and bring up further concerns regarding the status of international students in their respective universities.”
The program will start promptly at 2 p.m. and close with a photo session at 4:30 p.m.
