Ex-deputy minister to head Seoul Arts Center
The government named Mo Chul-min, former first vice culture minister, as new head of Seoul Art Center (SAC) in southern Seoul, Friday.
The 54-year-old career bureaucrat will serve a three-year term as the SAC’s president.
Mo entered government service in 1981 and served in various cultural posts, including head of the Korean Cultural Center in Paris and head of the National Library of Korea.
A graduate of Sungkyunkwan University, he also has a doctorate from the University of Oregon. Mo is regarded as a cultural policy expert.
He also received a prestigious cultural award from the French government in 2007 for promoting cultural exchange between Korea and France.
