Hit drama maker Son Mun-gwon committed suicide last month, a local daily recently reported. Family members told the Sports Chosun that Son hung himself Jan. 21 from a staircase at his house in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province.
He was 40 years old. Son was married to famed script writer Lim Sung-hyun, 52.
According to Sports Seoul, another daily, a police officer who was dispatched to the scene in January disclosed that Son hung himself with a necktie and the suicide was recorded by eight security cameras that were installed in his house.
Son and Lim married in 2007 after collaborating on the SBS drama, “Love in Heaven.” Since then the duo introduced unique Korean dramas including “Queen of Ahyun” (2007), “Jewel Bibimbap” (2009) and “New Tales of Gisaeng”(2011).
