Park Tae-hwan set a new Korean record in the 1,500-meter freestyle on Sunday at the New South Wales State Open Championships, Australia.
The 22-year-old clocked in at 14 minutes 47.38 seconds, his personnel best and a Korean record, in the final for the 1,500 meters, way ahead of runner-up George O’Brien who came in at 15:23.80 and compatriot and third placed Lee Hyun-seung at 15:27.86.
He came in second earlier in the 50 meters for the same category.
