It was all of sudden since there was no mentioning of any muscles from the beginning. She keeps on asking even though the male star gave sulked face and showed sign of unpleasant. This awkward situation ended when he rejected similar requests by her in several times. She seems obsessed about the abdominal muscles.
It appears that broadcasters have set up in business with stars’ abdominals in a way that they did want nothing other than abdominal muscles. If this kind of sex marketing is continuously accepted in TV programs, wouldn’t it poison our society?
Public TV networks also cannot be exceptions in this respect. In one TV drama, one business tycoon tried to hit his troubled son with something heavy, but the cousin of his son suddenly stuck out his head and soon the cousin’s head is covered with blood.
Afterwards, without any connection and introduction, bathroom scene just pops up and the cousin starts to have a shower in tears.
The camera shoots his body from top to bottom as if water drops caress his body. This scene lasts for long enough to make face blushed with embarrassment. The virtual aim of the scene may have been expressing his sorrow, but we wonder why does that scene have to be shot in the bathroom and why the camera shoots his body and muscles t for so long.
The broadcast sex marketing would not only sell celebrity, but also sports stars. One entertainment program from a cable TV invited a soccer player. When his muscles are exposed in the middle of the game, the subtitles on the scenes are lascivious and it seems to exceed the limit such as ‘woo’, ‘wow’, ‘awesome,’ which are different from the game in the show.
Recently, TV entertainment programs have made audience believe that muscular body can produce social power with essence of sexiness coming from abdominal muscles in the Korean society.
“It’s inevitable for audience to believe that abdominal muscles are everything when the muscles are seen repeatedly on TV,” said broadcast critic Jun Il-gu. “As a result, people do not consider core elements such as spiritual beauty as key factors in assessing human beings.”
In particular, it is more serious to teenagers as they tend to accept everything they see on TV without filtering. “They can hardly change later their mindset formed in their youth when they accepted sexiness and authority of abdominal muscles,” Jun said.
Of course, some TV broadcasters claim that they did not make such trend but only tried to catch up the social situation. However, specialists claim that personal and social tendency jumbles with broadcast and made audience interested and excited. “It is scientifically proved that people do and buy same things after watching TV programs,” said Jun.
