New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) will hold a promotion to celebrate and usher in the hot summer with a selection of cool, chilled New Zealand wines from June 20 to July 10.
Under the theme “Discover New Zealand Wines 2011,” consumers will have an opportunity to experience 30 quality white wines including premium labels of Cloudy Bay, Villa Maria and Sileni at 30 restaurants and wine bars in and around Seoul.
To raise awareness and generate consumer interest during this promotion, NZTE will host a promotional website (www.purenzwines.com) to highlight the wide-range of New Zealand wines and provide information on the New Zealand wine industry.
The website features an online survey and 30 survey-takers will be selected as prize winners for high-quality New Zealand wine.
NZTE has also formed a “New Zealand Wine Tasting Group” of 30 bloggers who are going to play the role of independent reporters to cover the story of the three week promotion.
As a kick-off meeting, bloggers are invited to a wine tasting event on Thursday at Hyatt Poolside Garden.
The bloggers will experience New Zealand wines at the participating restaurants and write feedback on their blogs during the promotional period.
NZTE Trade Commissioner Graeme Solloway said, “New Zealand wine is rich in flavor and balance due to New Zealand’s clean and pure nature and is a perfect complement for a variety of cuisine worldwide.” He further stressed, “I truly hope this promotion will create a new excitement among Korean consumers regarding New Zealand fine wine.”
Participating hotels are Millennium Seoul Hilton, JW Marriot Hotel and the Lotte Hotel in Seoul. Other venues downtown are La Vie en Rose, Rossini, Gallery Hyun, Macaroni Market in Yongsan, Little Terrace, Momotarou and Winery in Mapo and Ola of Songpa.
Venues in Gangnam, Seoul include Tower Geuan, Bean & Vigne, Wineline, Queen’s Park, the Wine Bar, Café 74, Lound T, Sideway, RoAnn, Café M, Claret and Casa Agio.
Others are Il Mare of Ilsan, Hun & Mins from Jeonju, La Bella Cucina, Chateau M and The Paris in Daegu and Aligote of Busan.
NZTE is the New Zealand Government’s economic development agency that works to connect innovative and internationally competitive New Zealand businesses into markets around the world, through a network of 38 international offices.
The agency also assists international investors to relocate their businesses to New Zealand, to establish green field operations, and to invest in and work with New Zealand companies.
In 2008, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise were judged “best of the best” at the World Trade Promotion Organization Awards.
