Daughter sold as sex slave for used car

A French couple sold their daughter into sex slavery for a used car, a court has heard.

The 23-year-old woman, identified only as Sabrina, was subjected to three years of horrifying abuse following the exchange in 2003 at a travelers' camp in Melun, outside Paris.

Her value was agreed at just under $1,000 — with her parents also handing over cash to make up payment for the second-hand hatchback.

Franck Franoux, 58, and his partner Florence Carrasco, 56, forced her to live chained up in a filthy shed where she was routinely beaten, hired out for sex with other men and forced to look after their children, the Daily Mail reports.

Her only escape was when she was dumped outside a Paris hospital after falling critically ill in 2006.

Sabrina had lost all her teeth and weighed under 40kg.

"She was in a deplorable physical and psychological state," Le Post online reported a police source as saying.

"She needed reconstructive operations on her nose and ears, which had been mutilated.

"It took her a year to recover from her ordeal and she will bear the physical and mental scars all her life."

Sabrina's parents are among eight men and six woman facing a raft of charges including human trafficking, rape, barbarism and torture.

The trials are scheduled to run until Dec. 17.

프랭크 프라누(58)와 플로렌스 카라스코(56) 부부는 딸을 더러운 헛간에서 쇠사슬에 묶여 살면서 정기적으로 매를 맞고 다른 남성과 섹스를 하라고 빌려주었으며 강제로 아이들을 돌보게 했다고 데일리 메일이 보도했다.

그녀가 도망나올 수 있었던 것은 2006년 극도로 앓아 떨어지자 한 파리 병원밖에 내던져버린 덕분이었다.

사브리나는 이를 전부 잃었고 몸무게가 40kg가 되지 않았다.

러포스트지는 “사브리나는 신체와 정신적으로 참담한 상태에 있었다”고 경찰의 말을 인용 보도했다.

“이런 시련이 회복되는데 1년이 걸렸으나 신체 및 정신적인 상처는 평생 아물지 않을 것이다.”

이와관련해 사브리나의 부모 등 8명의 남자와 6명의 여성이 인신 매매, 강간, 야만 행위, 고문 등 여러가지 혐의를 받고 있다.

재판은 12월 17일까지 계속된다.
