Andy Lee Starts Military Service

Singer Andy Lee entered the military Monday, becoming the first member of popular six-member boy group Shinhwa to start the two-year mandatory military service.

Before joining the military camp in Nonsan, South Chungcheong Province, Andy whose real name is Lee Sun-ho told reporters that he will try his best to do his military service well and that he misses all the members of Shinhwa.

More than 200 Korean, Japanese and Chinese fans gathered at the military camp to see him off. "I tried not to weep. But I'm so moved by your heartwarming support," he told his fans.

He abandoned his Green Card in 2003 to join the army.

Andy, 29, has branched out to acting in TV dramas and appeared on several variety shows. After setting up his own entertainment company ND (New Dream) Entertainment in 2007, he introduced two-member boy band "Jumper" last year.

The singer recently toured Asia after releasing his second solo album "Single Man," performing in Taipei, Tokyo and Shanghai.
Andy also released his digital single "One Love" Monday.
