An asteroid 560 meters in diameter is forecast to crash to the Earth in 2182, according to a research report.
The report by NASA, Spain, Italy and other researchers says it is possible that asteroid ‘1999 RQ36’ found in 1999 will hit the Earth in 2182. The asteroid would create a crater of 500 meters deep and 10 kilometers in diameter, making a city of ash as wide as London. If it falls into the Ocean, it will create a giant tsunami.
The chance that the asteroid will hit Earth is 0.00092 which is about one out in 1,000. Half of the possibility is focused on 2182. A release of energy can change the orbit of an asteroid. Researchers said that people have to prepare for the worst situation.

지름 560m나 되는 소행성이 지구와 2182년 충돌할 가능성이 있다고 연구팀이 밝혔다.
나사와, 스페인, 이탈리아 등 여러 국 연구가들이 1999년 발견된 소행성 ‘1999 RQ36’ 이 2182년 지구와 충돌할 가능성이 있다고 했다. 만약 RQ36 이 지구와 충돌하면 500m깊이와 10km 지름의 분화구가 생기게 되며 런던크기의 도시를 재로 만들 수 있다. 만약 바다에 떨어지면 거대한 쓰나미를 일으킨다.
소행성 ‘1999 RQ36’이 지구와 충돌할 확률은 0.00092, 약 1000분의 1 확률이다. 하지만 절반이상의 확률이 2182년에 집중되고 있다. 또한 에너지 방출이 소행성의 궤도를 바꿀 수 있다. 연구가들은 최악의 사태에 대비해야 한다고 밝혔다.
