Katherine Heigl’s Korean daughter

The daughter of Katherin Heigel, former Grey's Anatomy star, now is "100 percent fine" after open heart surgery. 17-month-old Naleigh's heart was repaired with open heart surgery before the baby girl left Korea.

When Katherine Heigl and husband Josh Kelley welcomed Naleigh last September, the couple explained that they were able to adopt their daughter faster because of her special needs, a congenital heart problem.

"Her heart is 100 percent ?ne now. She has a scar, so she won't be wearing bikinis, which is fine by us," said Heigel during the interview. "A lot of children don't find forever homes because they're on that special-needs list, even if it's because of something as simple as her mother smoked cigarettes for a month, not knowing she was pregnant. That's not so huge that you couldn't handle it."

케서린 헤이글의 한국인 입양아

그레이스 아나토미의 스타 케서린 헤이글이 자신의 17개월 된 딸 네일리가 "100% 괜찮다"고 밝혔다. 선천적으로 심장병을 앓던2살이 채 안된 이 아기는 입양이 확정된 후 한국에서 심장수술을 받고 회복중이었다.

케서린헤이글과 그녀의 남편 조시 켈러는 작년 9월 네일리를 입양했다. 이 결정은 네일리의 수술일정 때문에 당겨진 것이었다.

"이제 우리딸 심장은 완전히 괜찮아요. 흉터때문에 아마 비키니는 못입을지모르지만요 (웃음)," 라고 헤이글이 말했다. 하지만 "아직도 너무 많은 아이들이 부모에게 버림 받았고 특히 선천적 장애를 앓고있는 애들은 입양되기도 힘들다"며 안타까움을 나타냈다. 아이들의 선천적 장애가 꼭 그렇게 돌보기 힘든것은 아니라고 전하며 부모에게 버려지고 입양을 기다리는 아이들에게 따뜻한 관심을 가져줄 것을 당부했다.
