A mega-wattage celebrity couple has been born, after national heartthrob Jang Dong-gun and actress Ko So-young tied the knot Sunday.
The couple, both 38, wed at the Shilla Hotel in a private ceremony where about 500 family, relatives and friends were invited.
High-profile guests included movie stars Lee Byung-hun, Jung Woo-sung, Song Seung-hun and Kwon Sang-woo and his wife Son Tae-young. Other stars that made the wedding seem like a red carpet event were singers Rain and Lee Jung-hyun, and actors So Ji-sup, Synn Mina and Lee Jung-jae.
Jang and Ko appeared before the press for a short photo session. Scores of reporters and fans ― including over 200 from Japan ― were also seen lining up to get a glimpse of the stars hours ahead of the event at the hotel in Jangchung-dong, Seoul.
“The public attention we attracted was at times pleasant and other times burdensome, but today I am only thankful,” said the groom. “I don’t know if it’s a boy or girl yet, but personally it would be nice to have a daughter who looks like Ko So-young.”
Ko is already three months pregnant, Jang’s management agency AM Entertainment has said. “Thank you. We will try our best to have a happy life,” added the mother-to-be.
Lee O-yong, former culture minister and renowned author, officiated at the marriage. He is the father of Lee Sng-moo, who directed Jang’s Hollywood debut piece “The Warrior’s Way.”

The two will honeymoon in Bali, Indonesia and live in a villa in Heukseok-dong, Seoul.
The two met on the set of the 1998 film “Love Wind, Love Song” and became friends. They made headlines last fall when they admitted that they had been dating since 2007.
In June, the Jang will start his next film project, “D-Day”’ Meanwhile “The Warrior’s Way,” due for release this summer, co-stars Kate Bosworth and Geoffrey Rush and was produced by Barrie Osborne, who is known for “Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.”

장동건과 고소영이 일요일 결혼식을 올려, 국내 최 정상급 연예인 커플이 탄생했다.
38살 동갑내기인 장과 고의 결혼식은 500여명의 가족, 친지 및 친구들만 초대해 신라호텔에서 비공개로 거행됐다. 배우 이병헌, 정우성 그리고 권상우-손태영 부부가 참석했다.
장동건의 헐리우드 데뷔작 "영웅의 길"을 연출한 이승무 감독의 부친인 이어령 전 문화장관이 주례를 섰다. 박중훈 동료 스타가 사회를 보았으며 발라드 가수인 신승훈이 축가를 불렀다. 여배우 이 혜영이 고소영의 부케를 받았다.
200명이 넘느 일보팬을 비롯한 많은 팬들과 언론은 서울 시내 장충동에 있는 이 호텔에서 결혼식이 있기 전 수 시간 전부터 이 커플 스타를 보기 위해 긴 줄을 서 있었다.
신부 고씨는 이미 임신 3개월 째라고 장씨의 소속사인 AM 엔터테인먼트가 이미 밝혔다. 이들은 신혼여행을 인도네시아 발리로 떠나며 신혼집은 흑석동 빌라에서 차릴 예정이다.
이들 둘은 1998년 작 “연풍연가 (戀風戀歌)의 세트장에서 만나 친구가 됐다. 지난 가을 2007년 이후 연애를 하고 있다고 인정해 대대적으로 언론에 보도됐다.
오는 6월 결혼한 장 동건은 다음 영화 “D-Day”을 착수한다. 한편 이번 여름 개봉될 "전사의 길"은 케이트 보스워스와 제프리 러쉬가 주연을 했고 “반지의 제왕: 왕의 귀환” 제작자인 바리 오스본이 만들었다.
