Student human rights debate:

Adrian Jones, second left, political counselor at the British Embassy, presents an award to the winning team of the student human rights debate organized by the British Embassy and Yonsei University, last Wednesday, at the university in Seoul. The debate ``Talk Human Rights 2010'' was themed on freedom of speech on the Internet. Fifteen teams representing countries, international organizations and NGOs competed to win a trip to Geneva. Frank La Rue, left, U.N. special rapporteur on the right to freedom of opinion and expression who was in Seoul last week, made a surprise visit.

Conference on Buddhism:

Indian Ambassador Skand Tayal, center, joins scholars from India, Korea and Germany during the International Conference on Buddhist Tradition and Heritage in East and Southeast Asia, held at Dongguk University, last Monday. It was a two-day session organized by the embassy.

Tunisian officials:

Tunisian Ambassador Mustapha Khammari, fifth from left in a blue tie, joins a delegation of Tunisian government officials, who spent a week in Korea receiving training at the Korea Central Officials Training Institute, during a reception at his residence in Seoul, last Wednesday. The delegation was composed of 27 officials.

Female Italian judges:

Fernanda Cervetti, center, an Italian judge and the author of the book, “New Justice in Europe,” joins other judges from Italy during her book opening ceremony in Seoul, last Wednesday. They were all in Seoul to take part in an international conference last week.
